Scope of work

What an annual visit actually covers

Engine service
Oil and filter change, air filter, spark plugs or injector inspection, belt and hose condition.
Cooling system
Coolant strength and inhibitor test, radiator and louver clearance, block heater verification.
Fuel system
Diesel fuel sampling for water and microbial growth, gas pressure under load, regulator and line check.
Starting system
Battery load test, terminal service, charger output verification. Batteries are the single most common no-start cause.
Electrical & controls
Controller fault log review, alarm test, firmware status, torque check on load-side connections.
Transfer switch
Contact inspection, exercise cycle, timing verification, and confirmation the critical branch is what you think it is.
Enclosure & site
Rodent and nesting inspection, drainage, exhaust clearance, snow and vegetation setback.
Documented run
Loaded run with recorded voltage, frequency, and temperature readings, filed and sent to you.

How a good generator becomes a brick

The common industry pattern is to oversize a unit, install it, hand over a manual, and leave maintenance entirely to the owner. Nobody explains that manufacturer coverage generally requires documented, on-schedule service by an authorized dealer, so when an alternator, controller, or engine component fails inside the coverage window, the claim is denied for want of records.

By year three that unit is running on fuel that has absorbed water, cranking on a battery that fails under load, and logging failed self-tests nobody reads. It looks fine from the driveway and it will not start when the utility drops. That is a brick on a concrete pad, and it is entirely preventable.

Every system we install leaves on a plan, and we will enroll a unit we did not install. You get documented loaded runs with recorded voltage, frequency, and temperature, battery load tests, fuel sampling, and a service history you can produce for a manufacturer claim, an insurer, or a regulator.
