Rural energy funding

Stack federal urgency with federal dollars

The USDA Rural Energy for America Program exists to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses fund renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvements. Structured correctly, a resilience project can qualify for meaningful support.

Eligibility at a glance

Who and what typically qualifies

Agricultural producers
Operations that derive at least 50% of gross income from agricultural production may apply, in rural or non-rural areas.
Rural small businesses
Small businesses located in eligible rural areas, as defined by USDA Rural Development.
Eligible project types
Renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvements. Solar, storage, hybrid configurations, and efficiency upgrades that improve resilience are the strongest candidates.
Diesel-only standby
Traditional diesel standby generation has specific eligibility considerations and is frequently not fundable on its own. Pairing it with an eligible measure changes the picture.
Assistance available
Grants and/or guaranteed loans, subject to current USDA funding levels and application windows.
What decides it
Project scope, documentation quality, and the current application cycle. USDA makes the final determination, not us.

REAP is administered by USDA Rural Development. Eligibility, funding levels, and application windows change. This page is informational only and does not guarantee funding or financing approval. Final decisions rest with USDA and any lending partners.

How we help

A free screen, then real application support

01

Eligibility screen

Tell us your operation type, county, and what you want to protect. We return a plain-language read on whether a REAP application is worth pursuing.
02

Project structuring

We scope the system so the eligible measures are clearly identified and priced separately from anything that is not, which is usually the difference between an approvable application and a confusing one.
03

Application support package

Equipment specifications, energy assessment inputs, quotes, and the technical documentation an application requires, assembled in one place.

Two minutes of detail from you, a real answer from us. Include your operation type, county, and the loads you need to protect. If REAP is not a fit, we will tell you that and point at the alternatives instead.

We are a generator and UPS dealer, not a grant administrator. Our screen is a starting point for a conversation with USDA Rural Development, not a substitute for one.
